It was so nice to meet a number of families last Thursday night for Meet the Teacher Night. While the event was of an informal setting, it gave both you and I a chance to get to know each other a little bit. I sent home the handouts from the event last week to all families that were unable to make it to the school. Please read over them and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Last week we started our first official look into the Science expectations of both the grade 1 & 2 curriculum. We are currently looking at seasonal changes, the importance of the sun and how the sun affects living things. We will be continuing to look at a variety of topics and questions that shoot off of the above ideas. We are continuing to practice the rules and expectations around entering and exiting the building (i.e. walking at all times), during eating times (i.e. staying seated, cleaning up after ourselves), how to transition from one activity to another (i.e. clean up when asked the first time). These expectations are reinforced with practice, consistent direction and redirection as well as praise when completed well. I will be attempting to post updates as regularly as possible. Please bear with me as I try to make this a new routine for our class this year.
